Vintage Pair of Japanese Nodder Dolls – Papier-Mâché / Chalkware – Made in Japan – Mid-Century. Hand-crafted & painted in Japan and feature the traditional "bobble head" or “nodder” design where the oversized heads gently wobble when moved. Both heads still move freely. Base stickers: “Made in Japan” and “Japan." Approximately 6 inches tall. Vibrant details and expressive facial features. One is nodding off to sleep! Traditional clothing with gold painted Asian character symbols on the chest. Distinctive hats — one blue cap and one yellow conical hat. Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Some light scuffing, small paint loss, and mild surface marks (see all photos for details). Both figures remain sturdy and display beautifully.
